The Bury Local Care Organisation is a group of organisations which have agreed to work together to provide improved and better-coordinated care to people in the borough.

This will help support improvements in the health and wellbeing of men, women, and children in Bury, which in some areas is below the national average.

The Local Care Organisation will aim to do this by changing the way health and care services are provided, focusing on providing care in the home and community, with hospitals and care homes only used if the needs of people can only be met there.

Here is an example of some of the services which the local care organisation is responsible for:

School nursing

Health visiting

Minor urgent care

Community children’s nursing service

End of life services (excluding hospices)

Social work – adult services

Community therapies

Community eye services

Posture and mobility services
